"Yesterdays, launch of the new Nissan LEAF “Fully Electric car” in the UK is comparable to turning back time thirty years …
The LEAF, selling for £25,990 including a £5,000 Government tax incentive is already sold out for the next six months as motorists all across the UK seem eager to save money and help the environment at the same time by getting behind the wheel of this revolutionary vehicle.
The LEAF is up to six times cheaper to run then any conventional equivalent gasoline car and with the price of fuel soaring up to record amounts (around £6 per gallon recently), the £2 cost for a full charge (providing a 110 mile range) of the all-electric Nissan LEAF is pretty much a no brainier. An equivalent sized gasoline engine car would cost, on average, about £12 to travel that same distance.
So UK drivers are now being offered the chance to embrace the new dawn of electric motoring and get behind a Nissan LEAF effectively like turning back time back to 1979 when gasoline costs were around £1 per gallon."
