"The Nissan LEAF car has been nominated for ‘Best Electric Car on the Market’ in TreeHugger’s annual Best of Green Readers Choice Awards in the Cars and Transportation category.
This is TreeHugger’s third annual Best of Green Awards and its second year holding the Best of Green Readers Choice Award . After spending the year researching and reporting on vehicles, people, concepts and projects that push green to the forefront, TreeHuggers has come with some candidates for this year’s awards.
Nissan has been racking up nominations and wins across the board for the Nissan LEAF car. The category in which the Nissan LEAF car is nominated, is currently open for voting. TreeHugger is asking its readers and electric car followers to vote for what they deem to be the best electric car on the market. The contenders for this category include the Tesla Roadster, Nissan LEAF, Chevrolet Volt and Mitsubishi i MiEV.
Instead of the award being decided by a panel of automotive experts, the winner will be chosen by the readers.
Readers and EV followers must weigh-in before 11:59pm EDT on Friday, April 1. Votes can be cast by visiting TreeHugger’s website and checking the box next to the vehicle of their choice. This particular category is for EVs that are currently on the road. There is separate category for EVs that are on the rise in popularity, but haven’t quite hit the market yet.
