"Move over Nissan LEAF vehicle and Nissan LEAF NISMO RC, LUXGEN’s electric vehicle the Neora, just might be a force to be reckoned with.
Lesser-known Taiwanese manufacturer LUXGEN unveiled a groundbreaking new plug-in vehicle called the Neora, at the Shanghai Motor Show. The Neora is said to have a claimed range of 249 miles per charge, which is more than double the estimated range of the Nissan LEAF car and Mitsubishi i-MiEV.
According to LUXGEN, the Neora’s electric induction motor produces 241bhp. Thanks to its aerodynamic outline, this is enough to whisk the 1600kg vehicle to 62mph in 6.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 155mph. LUXGEN also claims that the front wheel drive Neora’s 48kWh lithium ion batteries can recharged to 80 percent within an hour.
The interior of the vehicle consists of a heads up display, a LED screen for passengers in the rear and a nine inch screen on the dashboard for navigation functions as well as for communication with other vehicles.
According to AutoExpress, LUXGEN has hinted that this concept will in fact hit the road someday.
